Big Games With Gold Changes Are Coming Soon

0

Big news for old school Xbox gamers this morning as Microsoft sent an email blast to Games with Gold Members this morning. NerdSimple breaks down the announcement.

Games with Gold is a benefit for subscribers of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Microsoft selects a free game each month, and all Xbox 360 titles are playable on the latest Xbox Series X / S consoles and Xbox One.

Microsoft has announced they will discontinue Xbox 360 games on its monthly Games with Gold offering in October. Microsoft has started emailing Xbox Live Gold subscribers to notify them of the change, noting that they have “reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalogue.”

If you’ve already downloaded  Xbox 360 games through Games with Gold, this change won’t impact those previous downloads. Simply put, starting October 1st, Microsoft won’t be adding any new Xbox 360 titles to the Games with Gold service.

While Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate have become the mostly required subscription for Xbox owners, Xbox Live Gold is still incredibly popular. Xbox Live Gold also provides monthly discounts for the Microsoft Store, but most of the subscription’s core features are now free to all modern Xbox owners.

You’ll still need an Xbox Live Gold subscription for an Xbox 360, though. As for the future of Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft started moving away from the Xbox Live branding last year, as it now refers to the set of software and services as Xbox network.

Here’s the full email blast from Microsoft to Xbox Live Gold subscribers:

Beginning October 1, 2022, the monthly games provided to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members via Games with Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 titles. We have reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalog; however, Games with Gold will continue to include exciting Xbox One titles and exclusive savings each month. This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription. Thank you for being a loyal member. Team Xbox

GameFly Rental Subscription: Still Worth it?

NerdSimple takes a look at why GameFly Rental may still be worth checking out even in this era of streaming and digital gaming.

We’ve all been there. Staring proudly at our collection of green or blue (Xbox or PS) hard copy games lined up perfectly on our game library shelf. However, with the rise of downloadable games, hard copy collections have begun to dwindle.

If you’re a gamer, you must have used GameFly or thought about it. The Netflix like service offers disc via mail delivery fast to your mailbox and offers is the affordability as a premier video game renting service. The big question being, is it still worth it? Are downloadable demos enough to convince you to spend $60+ on a game? Let’s dive in.

GameFly is America’s go-to source for new and classic movie and video game rentals. With thousands of titles to choose from, you can rent films or new and used video games without worrying about any late fees.

If you like your rented game or movie enough, you can even choose to keep it from for a low, pre-owned price. Not happy with your rental? Send it back and they’ll rush your next movie or video game rental to your doorstep for free, so you can watch your flick or get your game on ASAP.

Whether you play one of today’s hottest systems or enjoy the nostalgia of systems past, you’ll find all the best new and used video games at GameFly.

Gamefly’s been around since 2002, and is the only video game rental service still out there.

GameFly offers a 30-day free trial for new users where they can rent 2 video games over the period.

Once that’s done, you can choose between 2 subscription options –

$15.95 / month

$22.95 / month

The base subscription will allow you to rent one game at a time, return it, and wait for the second game to be delivered.

The other Gamefly subscription bumps up the number of games you can rent simultaneously to 2, so you always have a game rented in and available to play while another is returned and a new one is on the way.

If you do not take the free trial, you can access either of these subscriptions at a discounted price for the first 3 months.

Without taking the free trial, you can pay $9.50 for 3 months and then $15.95 monthly or you can pay $13.50 for the first 3 months and then $22.95 monthly.

All subscriptions cover unlimited rentals along with a $5 rewards release every 3 months.

Rentals arrive to you in just a couple of days. If you’re on the fence about buying that big expensive digital game – grab it from GameFly first, then pick it up on digital. It’s much less risk if you end up with a bad game!

NerdSimple uses GameFly and you should too! It’s a great way to test the waters on games before committing to them digitally. Getting a refund from Microsoft on a bad game is much harder than just sending it back in the mail.

Apple Watch Series 8 Might Detect Your Fever

0

Apple keeps bringing new innovations to the Apple Watch with each new model. NerdSimple looks at the most recent rumored innovation said to be body temperature tracking.

The next Apple Watch (Series 8) will possibly include a body temperature sensor that will warn you when you’re coming down with a fever, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The Series 8 won’t provide an exact reading as we expect it may be challenging to accurately measure body temperature depending on a variety of conditions, but it could send a notification that prompts you to see a doctor or use a dedicated thermometer.

Gurman says other changes to the Series 8 “will probably be minor.” He suggests the wearable will feature the same processing power as the Series 7 and Series 6. He also mentions that higher-end Series 8 models could include an improved display. Another device that reportedly won’t come with many upgrades is the second-generation AirPods Pro.

This isn’t the first time Mark has brought up the possibility of the Series 8 including a body temperature sensor. He first mentioned Apple was working on the feature back in
Summer 2021, reporting that it would likely arrive with the company’s 2022 wearable lineup. He backtracked on that prediction in January, warning fans that blood temperature monitoring was among a handful of capabilities that were a few years away.

However, a few months later, he said the Series 8 would include a
body temperature sensor, provided the feature passed Apple’s internal testing guidelines. Now, writing in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Gurman says he believes the feature is “a go” for the standard Series 8 and the oft-rumored rugged edition Apple is creating for extreme athletes.

Get eCommerce Funding For Your Business Today

SellersFunding offers up to $5M in eCommerce funding designed for well established Amazon or other D2C sellers. NerdSimple takes a look at how SellersFunding works and how they can help grow your business.

Get Funding to grow your Amazon Business Today by Qualifying for SellersFunding. Qualification can be a bit challenging for newer businesses, but if you’re already off to a good start, here’s what it takes.

* At least six months of Amazon sales history
* At least $20,000 in profits over the past six months
* Positive customer feedback and account health metrics

SellersFunding is an online lender that offers unsecured short-term loans and amazon revenue advances. You may qualify easier for the daily advance product than the loan product depending on your sales data.

SellersFunding requires business owners to back the advance and loan products with a personal guarantee. This means that the business owner is liable paying off the loan if the business folds or can’t pay back the debt.

SellersFunding uses an algorithm to help you get approved quickly – sometimes in around a minute unless additional manual review is required. After you’ve accepted the loan, it typically takes between two and three business days to get your funds. If you’ve read enough and want to check them out, click here to visit SellersFunding and get started! Otherwise, read on for more details.

While there’s no restriction on what type of business can apply for a SellersFunding business loan, it’s made to meet the specific needs of Amazon sellers. The application doesn’t take more than a few minutes and is primarily based on the past six months of sales. The short terms make the loan especially useful for businesses that need funding to prepare for an uptick in sales to purchase inventory, bring on more staff and more.

In addition to short-term business loans, SellersFunding also offers what it calls a “daily advance”. You can receive up to 90% (based on qualifications) of your previous days sales the very next day, instead of the standard 7-14 days that Amazon holds proceeds from sales after shipment. This allows a business to roll the previous days revenue right back into the business for more rapid growth.

Sellers funding also supports other great marketplaces and platforms.

Walmart
Ebay
Shopify
Magento
Stripe

Destiny 2 TWAB Highlights for June 30th, 2022

0

Each week Bungie gives the Destiny 2 community a preview of what's coming up. NerdSimple dives into this week's TWAB and shares the highlights.

We here at NerdSimple are big, big gamers. Gaming is life (along with coffee). So when our Bungie overlords speak, we listen! Here’s just some of the changes coming up for Destiny 2 over the next while. Let us know in the comments what you think!

Buffs

Airborne Effectiveness:
– Improved baseline airborne accuracy and aim-assist for all Primary weapons.
– Added a static airborne effectiveness buff to some existing perks.
– Raised the base AE stat on several Exotic weapons.
– Tuned up some underperforming Primary weapon subfamilies in PvP.
– Increased pellet Shotgun damage in PvE.
– Increased ammo per Special brick for Glaives, Forerunner and Eriana’s Vow in PvP.
– Linear Fusion Rifles no longer receive increased flinch in PvE (will still receive increased flinch in PvP).

I know for myself that I’m loving some of these changes. I main a warlock (Warlock master race!) and have felt that this season’s movement and aiming while I’m floating around in the air has felt more sluggish/clumsy than before. I’m eager to see how these changes feel.

Also:

We’re evaluating the airborne effectiveness stat on Exotic weapons, keeping in mind that they can’t equip the Icarus Grip mod, and decided to bump several up to be more competitive.

SUROS Regime from 23 to 31.
Whisper of the Worm from 9 to 20.
Monte Carlo from 21 to 29.
Forerunner from 22 to 27.

My baby the Suros Regime is getting some love – though I’ve become a bit of a “Le Monarque” nerd in PVP and PVE lately.

Apple AirPods Pro on sale for 20% Off! What a deal!

0

It doesn't get much better than this when it comes to apple products. Apple AirPods Pro are a fantastic gadget and are on sale during early Prime Day 2022 sale days for $199 down from $249.

When it comes to Amazon Prime Days 2022 sales, this one is one to take a serious look at.

Active Noise Cancellation is a big feature of the AirPods Pro, using one outward facing and one inward facing microphone along with super advanced software to adapt to each ear for what Apple says is a “uniquely customized, superior noise-canceling experience.”

The AirPods Pro look similar to the original AirPods, but have a design with a wider front to accommodate silicone tips for comfort, fit, and noise cancellation purposes. The Soft tips come in three sizes to fit different ear sizes.

Airpods Pro have “transparency mode” that can be toggled on, users have the option to listen to music with Active Noise Cancellation turned on while still hearing the ambient environment around them. As a user of these myself, I can say that it’s a great way to tune out the kids during zoom meetings!

Inside of the AirPods Pro, there’s a new vent system aimed at equalizing pressure, which Apple says minimizes the discomfort common with other in-ear designs for a better fit and a more comfortable wearing experience.

AirPods Pro are water-resistant with an IPX4 rating, which means they can hold up to splashing water regardless of the direction. AirPods Pro should be safe from sweat and light rain, but they shouldn’t be submerged and you shouldn’t go swimming with them.

Apple AirPods Pro

Was $249 now $199 @ Amazon – Active Noise Cancellation blocks outside noise, so you can immerse yourself in music. Transparency mode for hearing and interacting with the world around you. Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking places sound all around you. Adaptive EQ automatically tunes music to your ears.

AirPods Pro include an Adaptive EQ feature that tunes the low and mid frequencies of the music to the shape of an individual’s ear for a “rich, immersive listening experience.”

AirPods Pro provide up to five hours of listening time on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation disabled, or four and a half hours when it’s turned on. With Active Noise Cancellation, AirPods Pro also offer three and a half hours of talk time.

Apple AirPods Pro are also powered by an Apple-designed H1 chip. The H1 chip powers real-time noise cancellation, the Adaptive EQ feature, and hands-free “Hey Siri” support.

The AirPods Pro Wireless Charging Case supports Qi-based wireless charging and it can also be charged over Lightning. The charging case offers more than 24 hours of additional listening time and over 18 hours of additional talk time.

NerdSimple highly recommends that you take advantage of the great sale on Apple AirPods Pro!
